Signup and area selection had been built for four boroughs. They had to work for all of London without asking buyers for more upfront.
The product-matching feature customers didn’t trust had 1% usage. The design problem was shipping something useful without waiting for the model to mature.
How something looks changes whether people trust it, understand it, enjoy using it. But aesthetics is often the last thing considered and the first thing cut, because it's hard to measure. That doesn't make it less real. It makes it harder to defend, and more worth defending.
